There once stood a single tree, bearing bright red apples, in a field that had been abandoned by farmers who deemed it barren. For a reason no longer known, it became the custom of travelers passing through the field to eat the tree's apples and then plant the apple seeds as they left the field. Years later, a poor immigrant won the field in a poker game. Being told the land was unworkable the immigrant did not hold out high hopes, but decided to take his wife and children out to see it anyway. When they arrived they found the worthless field had grown into an orchard. The family grew and prospered in their new home. If you are lucky enough to find their orchard during harvest season you will find their descendents making the most of the fruits of that field. When it is not harvest season they still celebrate with what is referred to as Apple Cake. This will bring a small part of that harvest into your home.
